Cirrostratus Exedra have been given the green light by HMRC to do Self Assessment Submissions for Making Tax Digital.
"VAT is only the start of digital tax", said John Hemming CEO and founder of Cirrostratus Exedra Ltd. "The use of APIs is the way forward for dealing with the tax authorities in the UK."
"We are pleased to be able to say that we now have production credentials for Income Tax Self Assessment as well as VAT and the Agents API."
"We are also still offering a free service whether it is for bridging software or for our tax accounting system the 'Cloud Cashbook'.
Production credentials authorise an MTD software supplier to send live data into HMRC's servers. Cirrostratus now are confirming their position as being technically at the front of the pelaton of tax software developers in the UK.
"ITSA", said John Hemming, "involves sending more information and more submissions to HMRC than VAT which involves only 9 boxes of data. We strongly recommend to accountants or other agents that they learn how this works in practice by identifying a tame taxpayer whose data they can submit via MTD to HMRC. That means that when everything goes mandatory they will be able to surf the wave of change rather than being swamped in confusion."
