The team at Countingup has taken time out from working on our banking and accounting app to launch a free and simple to use coronavirus grant calculator for the self-employed. Try it here.

The calculator helps self-employed sole traders see the size of the grant they are likely to be eligible for under the Self-employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS),  which is due to launch at the end of April. They will also get an estimate of what their lost earnings are likely to be.

We know that many of our accountant partners are inundated with requests for help and advice from clients. Many requests relate to the financial assistance that might be available.

We’re sharing this calculator with you so you can work with your clients to answer their questions quickly. It’s our mission at Countingup to make it easier to run a small business. Right now, it’s really tough running a business. Many of your clients are being adversely impacted by Covid-19 and are feeling the pinch on cash flow. We hope this calculator will help you support your clients through this difficult time and plan for the future.  It’s freely accessible on our website here.

The Self-employment Income Support Scheme will allow clients to claim a taxable grant worth 80% of your trading profits up to a maximum of £2,500 per month for the next 3 months. This may be extended if needed.

Try the calculator here or for more information about this scheme and other help available to small businesses visit our help centre.
