The unique online financial matchmaking service that connects SMEs with banks and financial institutions that are ready to lend, today announces that it will be presenting at the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)’s inaugural Alternative Finance Conference 2013 (11th March, Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London).

Nigel Maine, Finpoint’s European Head of Marketing, is an invited speaker at the event and will be addressing delegates on the topic of “Innovative online platforms for accessing business finance.”

The ACCA – the global body for professional accountants – is hosting the one-day conference to bring together ACCA members who own or serve SMEs with senior members of business associations and policymakers involved in facilitating access to finance.  The event will be introduced by ACCA Chief Executive, Helen Brand and special guest Rt Hon. Michael Fallon MP, Minister of State for Business and Enterprise, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. The conference programme will focus on the growing importance of alternative online platforms in delivering access to much-needed business finance.

The ACCA notes that the last four years have provided ideal conditions for an explosion in new and innovative models for business financing. Research suggests that SME borrowers are losing faith in the traditional channels to finance.  As a result, alternative online platforms have emerged that are now serving mainstream needs. This event will examine how these platforms can become mainstream providers, and why it is beneficial that they do so.

Finpoint (UK) Ltd will be showcasing its services and business model to accountancy professionals – the people who, above all, are regarded as trusted advisors for business.  Finpoint’s online financial matchmaking platform was developed to address the growing need to connect SMEs seeking to borrow with institutional lenders in a challenging market.  Launched in Germany in 2010, to date loans totalling €155 million have been arranged, with over 2000 corporate users and 155 lenders registered.

The ACCA’s Alternative Finance conference will be recorded and edited videos will be showcased on ACCA’s website, ACCA’s YouTube channel and ACCA’s social media pages.  For more information about the event, please visit: http://www.accaglobal.com/en/member/alternative-finance2013.html
