Every practice is different, which is why we believe that software should be easy to customise – so that you can really make it work for you and your clients.

You don’t need to limit yourself to the default options of your accounting software. We know that every accountancy practice is different, which is why Zoho Books is yours to personalise – so that you can fully adapt it to your needs.

You can personalise everything from invoice templates to tags and buttons, so that you only see what you need to see, decluttering your workspaces and making you more efficient.

And when it comes to automating, Zoho Books also allows you to create your own functions, to automatically perform some everyday actions that save time for you and your team.

1. Invoice templates

With Zoho Books, the invoices you send to your clients can be personalised to include your company logo. You can also personalise the look of the template to match your company, choosing the fonts and colours that fit your brand, helping you stand out from the crowd and getting paid fast.

2. Custom fields

In Zoho Books, you can create additional custom fields for different modules. Some of the types of data that can enter into the custom fields are text, email, URL, phone, number and percent.

For instance, let’s say you wish to record the birthdays of your clients so that you can send them a birthday email. In such a case, you can create a custom field in the contacts module with an appropriate label name and select the data type as Date. The possibilities are endless!

3. Custom buttons

Sometimes having additional buttons or links in your software would make your job easier.  For example, let’s say that your practice charges a 2% late fee on all invoices that are not paid before their due date. Wouldn’t it be useful to have a custom button to automatically applies the fee on the invoices when they are overdue?

Or, on the other hand, if you decided to offer a 5% discount to clients who send their accounts in early to encourage early submissions, you would probably want to create a custom button to apply the discount to the invoices.

In Zoho Books* you can create new buttons to open links or perform certain actions depending on your firm’s requirements. This includes buttons for items, contacts, sales (for example for estimates or invoices), purchases and projects.

4. Reporting tags

When you generate reports, you might want to filter them to see only a specific kind of data. To be able to do this, you can associate tags and filter your reports based on those tags.

Zoho Books enables you to associate reporting tags to contacts, items, invoices, credit notes, expenses or bills. Once they’ve been associated to transactions, you can run reports and filter them using the associated tags.

5. Custom functions

Custom functions in Zoho Books allows you to write small pieces of code to automate some processes, such as providing a discount on some invoices, or adding a late fee. You can see how it works here.
