Award-winning software provider FreeAgent has announced that you can now file your clients’ Final Accounts and Corporation Tax returns directly to Companies House and HMRC through the software. This launch marks a big milestone for FreeAgent and its journey towards delivering a complete end-to-end accounting process for you and your small business clients.

Jonathan Amponsah, partner at accountancy firm The Tax Guys, who have been trialling the functionality, said:
“This is a really important, timely feature which will be a game-changer for many accountants. By streamlining the filing process and having everything in one place in FreeAgent, we’ll no longer have to deal with things like manual trial balance entry, mapping of accounts codes from different systems or opening balance issues - which can be incredibly time-consuming.

“We estimate that we’ll end up saving between one or two hours for every accounts and Corporation Tax preparation job that we do. That’s a massive benefit which will enable us to provide the most efficient services possible for our clients.”

There are currently some scenarios in which it will not be possible to file Corporation Tax for clients through FreeAgent. This includes the scenario in which any of the clients’ directors have an overdrawn director’s loan account at year end.

You can find out more about FreeAgent’s filing feature on its Knowledge Base and at its upcoming virtual event on 5th May at 2pm.
