Always the Bridesmaid, finally the Bride, Capium celebrated its first industry victory as the Small Business Accounting Software of the Year in the Accounting Excellence Awards 2019. Pipping more established rivals such as Xero, Sage and QuickBooks to the post, the cloud newcomer Capium, received glowing reviews from practitioners to its all-in-one Practice Suite.
The business was born amidst the rise in cloud technology and has leap frogged the bigger market players by ensuring its Practice Suite remained 100% in the cloud. And as with most cloud platforms, has stepped away from archaic pricing models which penalise a growing business by charging for additional user licences.
Capium prides itself on being an end-to-end, pure cloud platform that works seamlessly out of the metaphorical box. One price, one software and no need for a busy accountant to go on the hunt for additional apps, APIs or multiple software solutions.
The product ecosystem includes seven core services, namely; Practice Management, Bookkeeping, Accounts Production, Corporation Tax, Self-Assessment, Payroll and Company Secretarial. And in line with the businesses philosophy the systems are designed to be connected and unlock time for the Accountant in Practice.
With an enviable customer retention rate of 96.4%, Capium’s customer base has grown to over 1000 Accounting Firms UK-wide. Many fleeing from steep exit clauses in legacy desktop software contracts and now with the enforcement of HMRC’s Making Tax Digital agenda, have understood the true long-term value of switching to cloud software.
It’s no surprise then with this cloud renaissance Capium has come out as the Accountant’s choice of Small Business Accounting Software, speaking with Capium Customer Dan Ryder who attended the awards, he said “There’s no two ways about it, if you’re an Accountant in this day and age you have to bite the bullet and embrace technology. The business has recently launched its Company Secretarial service and sees this as another step forward to build an ecosystem capable of challenging the bigger market players. Whilst it’s still too early in Capium’s journey to draw battle lines, certainly a win in the bag has put them on the stage.
