IRIS adds payment facility to help streamline the digital journey

Continuing its mission to streamline the digital journey in the run up to the MTD VAT deadline, IRIS Accountancy Solutions has launched IRIS Payments which aims to reduce the time accountancy businesses spend chasing clients for payment.

The launch responds to calls from accountants who want to radically decrease precious practice time tracking down payments. According to a new survey from IRIS, over 70% of respondents cite the time chasing payments to be one of the biggest burdens for accountancy practices.

The concept of offering a payment facility is not new, but the UK’s largest accountancy software provider believes that by incorporating the function into its client portal, IRIS OpenSpace, clients can pay for services when approving documents. IRIS OpenSpace is used by over 425,000 accountants and their clients, providing a simple and secure way for accountants and their clients to work together online.

IRIS Payments leverages IRIS Fees, enabling invoice payments to be requested as part of the daily workflow, as well as automatically updating the practice financials.

Sion Lewis, CEO of IRIS Accountancy Solutions explains,

The launch of IRIS Payments complements our vision to simplify the lives of accountants, making them more effective and more productive. Integrating a payment solution into the accountant’s client portal is a natural fit, as it is being used as part of the ongoing relationship. This is an opportunity for accountancy professionals to streamline their client experience and create additional efficiencies in the digital process.

Simple and secure checkout can be completed from any device, and IRIS Payments supports major cards used by providers such as VISA, Mastercard and American Express. This removes the headache for accountants who want to process payments without the complexity of payment gateways, merchant bank accounts and PCI compliance. There is no set up fee, minimum spend or hidden charges, making the service quick and easy to start. Outsourcing payment also mitigates the risk for accountancy firms, as they are not collecting card information.
