Sage scoops Software Excellence Innovation Award
At AccountingWEB’s Software Excellence Awards evening on October 19th, Sage wasdelighted to be the recipient of the Innovation of the Year award for its AI product Pegg, a smart admin assistant that links to Sage Ones and helps record expenses from your phone without entering paper receipts.
The Software Excellence Awards are particularly prestigious as the majority of the categories are based purely on end user feedback. For the innovation category, however, a five-person judging panel assessed a shortlist of disruptive nominees also including Receipt Bank’s Practice Platform, Go Cardless, Capitalise.com, FreeAgent.
The judges were unanimous in their decision to make Sage Pegg the winner, stating Sage One’s Pegg “takes accounting software into completely new realms.”
Kriti Sharma, VP, Bots and Artificial Intelligence, at Sage picked up the award.
Alan Laing, managing director UK&I at Sage commented about the award win and the relevance of Pegg in his blog: “What it means to be an accountant is changing: technology is transforming the way your clients work – and what they expect from your practice. This is why we introduced Pegg into the accounting world, to make it easier for your clients to do the basics themselves,” he said. “This win for Sage is a sign that our accountants are ready to embrace technology.”
