We have now entered the second phase of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme. From 1st July, employers can bring furloughed employees back to work on a part-time basis, while still being able to claim under the CJRS for the hours not worked. This new flexibility will help businesses with reopening and help boost the economy.
When claiming for employees who are flexibly furloughed, employers are required to submit data on the usual hours an employee would be expected to work in a claim period and their actual hours worked.

BrightPay & Flexible Furlough
BrightPay Payroll Software has been updated in line with the new changes to the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, including support for flexible furlough (i.e. when employees return to work part-time with reduced pay).
BrightPay’s CJRS Claim Report has also been updated to cater for claim periods from 1st July onwards and now includes information regarding the number of usual, actual and furlough hours in the case of flexible furlough.
