We know that maintaining your finances is a small piece in the growing your business puzzle, but together we can make an impact by bringing together the latest news in our small business accounting, payroll and HR products.

In this month's update, Sage Accounting highlights include:

  • Updated and simplified reports allowing you to focus on what is important
  • New payment advice service and options to get your clients paid faster
  • Mobile and banking improvements to enable better quoting, invoicing and easier allocation of cash

Through these challenging times there’s has been enough to worry about, so over the past 90 days we’ve made several enhancements to Sage Accounting to help make your everyday tasks a little easier. Treat this as a sneak peak behind the curtain to see how our products can help your practice thrive.

1. Providing simplicity in complicated times

Complicated times call for keeping things simple, so we’ve cut out unnecessary steps in Sage Accounting and improved visibility for you.

Improved handling of zero-based invoices

We’ve improved how zero-based invoices are handled, so they no longer appear on ‘Overdue’ and ‘Outstanding’ tabs of your invoice list – reducing errors and saving you time.

Simplified bank transfers

You can now make bank transfers between two cash accounts without leaving the banking section.

Key reports are easier to use

Key reports have been simplified such as aged debtors and creditors, trial balance and customer statements.  These now show headers on each new page and the text on exported PDF reports is set to black, making them easier to understand.

2. Better interactions with your clients

Your clients are important and creating better experiences for them in every interaction is what will keep you ahead of your competitors.

Customised logos

We’ve improved our logo customisation options, so you can feature your brand on your sales documents in the best possible way.

Now when you upload a logo, it’s automatically checked to ensure the size of the file and the quality of the image are suitable.

If the image isn’t quite right, we’ll tell you what needs to be changed.

Then when you add your logo to your invoice, for example, it’ll be the correct size and quality – and this will go a long way to adding the professional touch that you crave.

We’ve improved the headers on the customer statements

New payment advice notification

It is now easier for your clients to communicate with their customers on how they should pay you by using the new payment advice included in your sales invoices.

If you’re using online payment services such as Stripe, you will see a ‘make payment’ button, helping to get your clients paid straight away.

Headers on customer statements

Headers are now clearly printed on all pages of exported PDF versions of customer statements. This makes them easier to understand when you’re going through multiple statements.

3. Mobile app improvements for easier control anytime, anywhere

With the updates made to the mobile Accounting app, there’s no need to be at your workplace to manage your clients.

You now have instant access to records, meaning you can quickly and easily create, customise and convert quotes, estimates and invoices.

“Being able to create estimates in the Sage Accounting mobile apps has helped me a lot. I can now create estimates while discussing them with the customer” – Robbie White, Aintree Caravan Services Ltd.

You can manage your accounts wherever you are, using the Sage Accounting app
