Maidenhead accountant 'safe and well' in Nepal

Martin Oppenheim, a 64-year-old accountant from Maidenhead who is in Nepal has posted on Google person finder saying he is 'safe and well', The Maidenhead Advertiser reported.

On Saturday a 7.9 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal. Over 3,500 have died with 1.4m in need of food aid.

Ruth Markland Deloitte's new non-exec director

Reuters reports this morning that Deloitte UK has named Ruth Markland as an independent non-executive director on 1 June. This comes as she steps down from Standard Chartered's board.

Markland succeeds Dame DeAnne Julius.

Liverpool accountant sets marathon world records

Grant Thornton accountant Tom Jones has set the world record for fastest runner to complete a marathon while dressed as a guitar. The 27-year-old completed the London marathon at the weekend in four hours, 26 minutes, and it is one of 12 marathons he is completing this year to raise money for cancer.

Definitely a Born Dull contender.
