Good morning and welcome to Thursday’s 9am Lowdown. We start today’s news digest with some great news about one of AccountingWEB’s own.

AccountingWEB’s consulting tax editor Rebecca Cave has become an honorary member of the Association of International Accountants. Also receiving an honorary membership yesterday's Marlborough House reception was Margaret Hodge, ITV’s political editor Robert Peston, RSM’s Danielle Stewart and Richard Murphy.

The government has suspended enforcement action and waive financial penalties levied against disability charities after the Revenue sent demands for six years’ worth of back-pay for carers –estimated to cost £400m. (Civil Society)
