This winter sees the first ever AccountingWEB Live Expo, taking place on 1-2 December 2021 at the Coventry Building Society Arena. Spread across seven theatres, over 60 workshops, panels, lectures and live Q&As will cover everything from MTD, self assessment, business tax building your app stack.

Six core themes underpin these big compliance shocks and challenges. From digital and tax to people, these six challenges will take centre stage at AccountingWEB's inagural exhibition.

In the run-up to December's big event, AccountingWEB's digital channel will be launching a brand new show to preview these core themes that make up the exhibition’s content programme. Expert speakers will detail the sessions they’ll be running, discuss the topics they’ll be debating and reveal some of the panellists who’ll be joining them this December.

Rebecca Benneyworth and Paul Aplin kick off the new show by previewing the digital and tax challenges that will be featured at the exhibition. In future experts such as Will Farnell, Stuart Hurst, Carl Reader, Sharon Pocock and Julia Penny will chew over topics such as strategy and growth, inspiration, leadership, people and change.

Join us each episode to discover just some of the content we’ve got planned and book your place for what is guaranteed to be an accounting exhibition like no other. Here is a preview of what you can expect from the upcoming AccountingWEB Live show

Episode One | Digital & Tax

Whether it's the smart technology that’s automating our firms or the comms channels accountants embraced to save their clients through lockdown, digital transformation has swept the entire profession. However, that technological revolution is inextricably linked to an equally seismic shift in tax compliance as the countdown to MTD sweeps everything aside.

Episode Two | Strategy & Growth

'How to' is the name of the game in the strategy & growth sessions we have booked for the Expo. Whether growing a small firm responsibility, recruiting from the growing Gen Z pool or just planning your own personal development, what strategies are needed to make tomorrow happen today?

Episode Three | Inspiration

Whether it's the long hours of lockdown or a long career helping clients, accountancy desperately needs to get its mojo back before growing once again. With war stories, case studies and tips from those who've been there, inspiring sessions with experts from inside and outside the industry will help you stock up on midnight oil and get back the fire needed to help you expand and grow.

Episode Four | Leadership

How do you retain and inspire a flexible team? Just how do you plan for unknown scenarios? What role does brand and content really play in the proof-hungry world of accounting? Exactly what do your clients think of you?

Episode Five | People

From the community that fuels our own Any Answers forum to the new advisory 'soft skills' required of the modern accountant, accounting in 2021 has more of a human face than ever before.

Who does the modern accountant need to be in 2022? What personal development is required to get there? We’ll also look at 2021’s increasingly diverse workforce – and why firms need to change to attract and retain it.

Episode Six | Change

Accounting has changed, disrupted not only by the pandemic and the pace of technology but by the world it inhabits. From the diverse people it recruits to the increasingly niche client base it serves, a once-predictable profession has been propelled into a much greener, techier world – and it's one that offers many opportunities for all.
