ICAEW updates ACA qualification

Trainee chartered accountants will learn practical skills earlier and there will be less paperwork for their employers under the ICAEW's updated ACA qualification.

The changes to the qualification are partly in response to employers, who told the Institute that some some trainee chartered accountants struggled to deal with tasks such as financial reporting and tax planning, early in their training.

"Employers wanted to see [trainee chartered accountants] taught technical skills at an earlier stage," Gavin Aspden, the ICAEW's director of qualifications told AccountingWEB...
