No Accounting for Taste ep23: My journey from work experience to partner
Newly minted practice director Katie Bladen joins the No Accounting for Taste podcast team to discuss making partner, work-life balance and the latest news, including the Labour Party conference and the Accounting Excellence awards.
Click the play button in the box above to listen to the podcast and hear host and editor of AccountingWEB Tom Herbert, along with business editor Francois Badenhorst and practice correspondent Richard Hattersley, round up the week's top stories in accountancy.
When Katie Bladen is not blogging on AccountingWEB she is working at the two-office, South Wales-based firm BDHC, where she has recently been appointed partner. What makes Bladen's story stand out is the fact she started at the firm just over 14 years ago as a fresh-faced work experience student.
Since then, Bladen has climbed the accounting ranks with the firm, graduating with a degree in accounting and finance to qualifying as an ICAEW accountant.
In this podcast, Bladen discusses her route into accountancy, as well as juggling a young family with the pressures that come with being a practice director.
