Three candidates are to contest the election for new vice-president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), it has been announced.

The three are: Dennis Cox, chief executive officer of Risk Reward Limited, Martin Hagen, non-executive director of Oxonica plc and Hilary Lindsay, business lecturer and e-learning consultant.

In his candidate statement, Cox drew on his experience as CEO of several SMEs. "I know the problems faced by our members at first hand, the problems of rules, regulation and capital raising," he said. "I also have the business flexibility to take a greater role within our Institute."

Hagen added that the key opportunities he would focus on as vice-president would include seeking consolidation options and developing plans to exploit market oppor...
