Last November, we announced AccountingWEB Live. Taking place on 2-3 December 2020 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, it is a two-day exhibition designed to support, engage and empower the whole of the UK accounting community.
As the global disruption caused by Covid-19 continues to touch every aspect of life and business, we have remained in close consultation with the Association of Event Organisers (AEO), the Government and our event location to understand what holding this event in 2020 would actually mean to our visitors, exhibitors and partners alike.
We have also been monitoring the sentiment of our partners, sponsors, suppliers and the AccountingWEB community since March 2020. Over recent weeks, there has been a rising level of uncertainty, with regional and country specific lockdowns in place, and talk of a second wave later on this year.
As a result, we have taken the decision to postpone the launch of the AccountingWEB Live exhibition until 1st & 2nd December 2021.
Whilst it would be possible for us to host an event in December 2020, we believe the special safeguards we would have to put in place for visitors and vendors would negatively impact the experience and outcomes for both.
We remain committed to realising our vision for AccountingWEB Live and running the best launch event possible - one that delivers the best possible experience for visitors, exhibitors and partners alike. Therefore, we feel this is the most responsible decision for the event, our team and visitors, exhibitors and partners alike.
On a positive note, we have been heartened by feedback and the ongoing support from you, the AccountingWEB community.
In fact, in our most recent poll, 90% of our surveyed audience confirmed they will attend AccountingWEB Live - just not this year.
Of course, the exhibition is just one element of AccountingWEB Live and we will continue to bring you insight and debate via our online platform that will be entering a new season in September, as we experiment with additional formats, new topics, hosts and shows.
