As the Accounting Excellence Awards entrants demonstrate every year, going niche is one of the fastest ways to grow your firm in terms of annual fees.
So you’ve decided to go niche. Surely that’s the biggest decision over with? Unfortunately not. The decision to double down on your niche can naturally generate some resistance or raise more questions.
In this Accounting Excellence podcast, AccountingWEB posed some of these questions to an expert panel:
- Della Hudson is the author of the Numbers Business and for nine years was the managing director of Hudson Accountants and Business Advisers
- Nadia Hossen Mamode is founder of 2019 Accounting Excellence New Firm finalist Bee Accountancy – who has a niche within the military community
- Indi Tatler is the marketing manager at online accountancy software company Capium
Recorded after the live Accounting Excellence Talks webcast, the panel considered questions on choosing between generalist vs niche, branding a new niche without alienating clients, sacking non-niche clients in a nice way, and gave advice to a practitioner whose niche is not going as well as they hoped.
