Now in its seventh year, AccountingWEB’s Practice Excellence Programme is branching out in 2017 with new awards and events culminating in Practice Excellence Week from 16-20 October.

Since the Practice Excellence Awards were first launched in 2013, we have received more than 560 entries from accounting firms keen to establish their credentials for client service, innovation, growth and technology prowess.

The Practice Excellence Awards have grown into a collaborative self-help programme for accountants. By taking part and sharing the secrets of their success, the profession’s leading firms help other practices improve their client satisfaction levels.

We don’t just tell accountants who’s done well - we get winners and innovators to show us how they do it in follow-up articles, webinars and podcasts. Many of the entrants have been with us for the whole journey and by tracking the changes and trends taking place among these firms, we can ratify the strategies that work best and bring forward the topics that matter most to practitioners and have the biggest impact on their performance.

This philosophy underpins our continuing Practice Excellence Live seminars, which will take place during 16-20 October with sessions on tax technicalities and Making Tax Digital, as well as the latest accounting technologies and marketing techniques.

Based on feedback from participants, we are reviving our Practice Excellence Conference, so practitioners will be able to meet and share their ideas in person and take part in interactive digital marketing and software workshops facilitated by our colleagues from PracticeWEB.

Another old friend is making a welcome return with our Software Excellence Awards, which extend the user-satisfaction ideal behind Practice Excellence to the programs that now dominate accountants’ working lives. The main awards will be decided by thousands of user ratings in a survey that will run from 24 March until July.

While the Practice Excellence content programme will continue through the summer, all this activity will culminate in October’s Practice Excellence Week and our gala awards ceremony in London on 19 October.

Practice Excellence Week is going to be a landmark event in this year’s accounting calendar. You can keep up with all the news, announcements and articles leading up to it by signing up for our free monthly email bulletin.

You can also find out more and register your interest in the awards, conference, live online workshops and awards ceremony from the Practice Excellence Week website.
