ACCA has gone mobile with two apps developed for Apple mobile devices.
According to the marketing blurb, the ACCA Insights iPad app is a risk management aid that “explores trends and issues crucial for business, economies, society and the accountancy profession”. Disciplines including management accounting, financial forecasting and internal are covered as part of its integrated approach to managing risk.
The Student Planner, meanwhile, combines exam and professional advice with a calendar of key dates and alerts that will synch with the user’s iPhone calendar. An interactive tool illustrates how long it should take for the student to qualify based on their current progress.
ACCA policy director Ewan Willars explained that the apps are part of the association’s digital strategy to make its materials available online.
“These apps have been designed to make it easier to access information on technology that more and more people are now relying on, such as smartphones and tablets,” he said.
An Any Answers thread has been started to ask members about their feedback. If you've used either of these apps yourself, do let the rest of the community know what you think of them by commenting below.
