Thanks all. No it is not a charity, just a Ltd by guarantee company. I ll tell them to check the governing document first, to see if there is any guidance therein.
Some Board members would donate the vouchers to the organisation, but some want to accept it, main consideration being tax implication, rather than anything else.
I agree - I do not feel they should accept it personally.
Just to clarify, are you saying my client would potentially incur £20K legal costs to stop a new company using very similar name as my client's established company?
Apologies in advance if I have misunderstood.
The estate agent takes about 2.5 hours per month, and about 5 hours to finalise annually. So 35 hours.
I have not focused too much on a hourly rate, but I would be aiming for £80-£90 per hour I would say. Based on this, £3,600 should be palatable for them. As I said there are other factors with this client that I am happy with.
The IT client is about 20 hours per annum including a few short phone meetings during the year. I include his SA in the company fee
I import the monthly statement into VT, there are only 3 or 4 invoices per month, and straight forward quarterly Vat Return.
Thanks all that is very helpful. From the replies the range for the estate agent seems to be between 5K-6K . Need to increase, but probably up to say £3,600 Plus Vat. The bookkeeper is good and takes care of all the routine postings well, so there is not huge amount of untangling to do, just the monthly journals and a few corrections.
They are on SO and otherwise pleasure to work with. Also I do not yet have office and wages overheads.
Out of interest, does anybody charge clients based on the turnover itself? I remember at a previous firm, some large clients were charged a percentage of the turnover.
I just got this call. But strangely, my name or my firm's name did not match their records. But it was our contact number they called. They terminated the call at that point.

Thanks all for your comments. I have asked the client to contact Companies House as a first step.
As advised above we are not getting involved with this and have told the client to obtain legal advice if they wish to pursue this.
Yes, same trade and same area, about 3 to 4 miles away

Not sure why they had our number
Brilliant thanks all for this clarification.
Brilliant thanks all for this clarification.
I am afraid some clients are understanding the 1st March date to be the earliest date of furlough and thus claiming the whole of March.
So what is the relevance of 1st March, as that is what their argument with me is?
I have been unable to get an understanding myself about this, can anybody clarify?
Thanks
