I read this a chuckled a bit as I was about to call 0300 200 3311 and had decided to make a nice cuppa whilst waiting!
I was pleasantly surprised when they answered just before I was about to strain the teabag.
This was about an hour ago ( and counting)
Currently I am on hold for the third time today, having been hung up on by the first guy I spoke to, then transferred back to the switchboard by the second as her “self assessment system isn’t working at the minute”
Third time lucky??
It’s not a complicated query, hmrc PAYE account not linked to self assessment is causing cheques to be sent to my client in error. I get the feeling no one wants to work today, and I am loosing the will myself now..
Thanks all for the replies and I apologise for not responding, it was my first (and only) post in Any Answers but I did not get any notifications of replies so assumed it had been ignored!
I can see that the wording was incorrect - the true wording should have been "Gross Property Interest Paid". My confusion came because whilst I know this is restrictable for Partnerships, there is a separate section for that, so it made me want to check if there are any other restrictions I am not aware of.
I am a fully qualified accountant (15yrs+) but I tend to focus mainly on Small Businesses, hence wanting to double check this one.
I had done my homework first, and asked Digita helpdesk (without joy) but always appreciate a second opinion.
Thanks again

This is an interesting point, automation is great but you still need an expert on hand to set it up correctly in the first place.
I wonder if MTD for IT would have similar repercussions....
