Thanks for including us
Hi Mathew -
Thanks for including us in your comparison. We're in the middle of a redesign of our entire app, so your review is useful in helping is determine what things aren't clear enough that we can make more clear and what features we're missing.
I'd like to correct you on a few points though:
For starters, we DO allow users to backdate an invoice. They simply have to "mark it as sent" and then will be prompted for the date it was sent. This is useful for users who are bringing in older invoices that were created on another platform, or maybe they don't actually need to send invoices to clients but want to use LessAccounting just to track what they've billed people. As for adding items being "cumbersome," we've addressed that in our new version. Adding line items will be much faster and easier.
You also mentioned that you weren't sure how to associate a paid expense with a bank account. That field is called "How did you pay?" In some places in our app, we prefer to prompt users to answer questions rather than assuming they know what to put there. "How did you pay?" is an easy way to figure out "What bank account or credit card did you use?" Another example of this is "Will you use it for more than a year?" to determine if an item is a fixed asset. Many find these helpful.
We'll be launching our redesigned app soon, and I would love for you to check it out. I can set you up with a free test account in case you want to do another review or even just to see if the changes we've made now make us a good solution for your business.
