Apparently having a favourite tax isn't "normal" - or so my husband tells me!
Parent ones - I can relate to rocking the shopping trolley and talking about myself in the third person. Also, do I get a double score for consistently finding a way to teach maths basics when doing almost anything - there will be no non-numerate children in this house!
Give people the information so they can vote with their money
As has been mentioned before part of the problem is that the way be buy things has changed. If you go into a shop and pay the shop keeper for an item that you walk away with it's pretty obvious where the sale has taken place - on the internet the person buying the item doesn't even know.
I'd like to see it made obvious when purchasing online "where" you are buying from. So if I purchase an item from Google when I click to put it in my basket a big clear message should come up saying "This item will be purchased from .............".
Then the government can run a campain to make sure that everyone knows the consequences of buying from outside the UK and let the purchaser decide. Since this first blew up I try not to use Amazon etc, but my problem is how do I know that the company I use instead isn't doing exactly the same thing. I could spend ages researching but the point with internet shopping is it's quick and easy - I just don't have the time. I'd rather pay a few quid more and know that UK tax is being paid and I can't believe I'm the only one, so why not have legislation that makes the location of all internet transactions transparent.
If only one copies going out it would surely be better to only have all this stuff sent to the agent. Most of my clients really don't want to see anything from HMRC as they assume that I will see it and deal with it, so why not put something on the letter containing the code for the agent registration to say by authorising the agent you agree that correspondence from HMRC will now be sent to them not you.
This will save the money spent on not sending out two sopies and also save the money they are going to be spending on answering masses of calls from agents who haven't got the info they need.
I'd actually love to see it all electronically and not get paper copies, but in reality I image that's some time away and this might be easier to impliment short term.
I think from a quick look at the decision that she only owned 10% of the B shares but the other 90% were not actually issued so in effect she reeceived 100% of and B dividend.
