Hands up if you think someone will lose their job over this

Doesn't this apply to all companies, not just audited ones? I have been putting in paragraphs explaining why the going concern basis is still appropriate in the statutory accounts I have prepared recently

I did one yesterday. The website rejected the old temporary NI number workaround (such as TN010190M), so I put in AB123456A. This was accepted - waiting to see if we get the cash though...

It's now Friday, 4 days later, no call from HMRC...

Yes but the client wanted the cash asap...

Re cancellation / amendments: Made a claim yesterday for a sole director / shareholder for the month of April. Client then decided she didn't want to be furloughed (as now planning to do some work next week), so need to cancel the claim. Contacted HMRC through webchat, then told I'd need to phone the helpline. Got through straight away after the menus (!!) - HMRC lady had to email the technical support team re cancellation - I am awaiting HMRC to call me back.

Does nobody realise clients have a choice? If I charged for a missed meeting:
1) The invoice wouldn't be paid
2) I'd have an ex-client - I'm sure one of the other 30 firms of accountants in my town would be pleased to accommodate them

Also, if the payroll payments had been made individually by Faster Payments, they technically could have gone through on the Sunday 30th. You can't automatically assume the payment went through on a weekday any more - you need to find out from the client when they actually made the payment!

I used Iris in industry. When I set up my own practice I chose Taxcalc because Iris/PTP was much too expensive. However, Iris Accounts Production was much more flexible - you could alter /replace every note, hide irrelevant notes, etc. Taxcalc by comparison is more restrictive. However the tax side is fine.

Surely it should have been called the Audit, Governance and Reporting Organisation (AGRO)
