In the absence of other info, I'd start by asking to see his records for the last 3 years and their associated accounts/workings (if he really insists he's S-E) - OR the last 3 tax returns (so you can ask questions about how figures and/or gaps were arrived at).
There are no deductions that's part of my point. He receives money paid into his personal account directly from the funeral companies.
Sounds to me like he has mistakenly ticked employment and not self employment.
I've seen one minister of religion before and he was indeed self employed.
His previous returns have been completed by other accountants and they have ticked the "employment" box on page 2. As I say, it may be that the most recent accountant has simply carried on from what went before.
The URL works fine. It's not a search, just a link (to an example of what you could find if you did some searching).
I know it's just a link. What I mean is, I tried searching before posting the question but that thread didn't show or I missed it. That link mainly discusses VT anyway which isn't what we need.
Why are you "assuming he would prefer to snap away on his phone and upload his travel receipts"? Is that after talking to him about his wants?
Based on exchange of emails. He wants something that's the least hassle for HIM. He'll expect us to correct.
Unless he has enormous volumes of travel receipts, he is likely to spend more time 'editing' entries from such an app than it would have taken to enter them in a s'sheet (and you are more likely to end up reviewing/re-allocating some of them). Or does he just want a new toy?
Thanks for all the responses and opinions - a fair spread then.
How does each handle client deposits/payments on account ? We'll have a substantial amount of fees paid in advance so the easier this is to handle the better.

Thanks. Tried searching but that result didn't appear.
Not many users out there then.
OK, well how about ALMCC ? Is this a comprehensive solution and value for money ?
Thanks.
Is there any way of contacting Xero other than having to "sign-up" ?

Thanks again.
Does anyone use BTC for corporation tax ?
We use them for MTD for VAT and are quite happy with it.
If so, impressions please ?

If I take them off my Agent client list (PAYE. VAT, SA and CT) does that automatically deauthorises me
Not in my experience - it only removes them from your agent list.
