Especially with software, Sage have not been developing their software, they have been buying everyone else's! And of course lumping it together, it doesn't work. Their personal tax software is great, corporation tax? Forget it. Their accounts production (again, not their own software) is the best I've come across (for flexibility) but its not much use now if you can't file it online!
Forbes and IRIS to name but two do actually seem to develop their products.
We've been with Sage for over ten years, using their whole practice suite. Their products lacked development and we felt that they were geared towards sales. We recently took the bold decision to move everything (pretty much) over to Forbes.
I just submitted the first corp tax return and accounts on Forbes without issues. I had first attempted with Sage but gave up after getting lots of error messages!!! Well done Forbes! Richard (Breckman & Company)
My answers
I have been waiting since March for one client. I have since submitted another online application and a paper one in August - nothing yet from HMRC.
It's unacceptable.
