I think the actual rate isn't an issue in this as she was paid almost the new NMW in 19/20. It's more of a time query really, but as claim should be based on 'usual wages' then I guess she'll have to go off the pre April hours and make wage up if she (employer) wants to do so.
I have to agree with this. I'm a one man business working from home getting no help whatsoever.
Clients are expecting us to help in every way, most have no clue as to the time and effort in pulling together claims on an ever moving set of rules.
So yes, I'm now having to implement a small charge for each claim submitted, clients are free to do their own but I'll charge them if I have to handhold them through it.
I agree, it's very disappointing. I do the vast majority of my clients bookkeeping and all through VT so will now need to either switch and pay for additional Quickbooks / Xero or other solutions.
I also have a few clients who use it themselves who won't want to go through any retraining / additional costs for diferent software.
I'd be quite prepared to pay extra for VT - the one-off fee and multiple books is brilliant value.
I've tried other software and nothing is as easy, also use it for final accounts.
I can't see VT surviving in any form if they don't provide a solution to something which seems so easy.
Director pays all car costs - insurance, fuel etc and also refunds lease cost to the business owner on a personal basis. Owner probably pockets this - no evidence of it going back into company but it may go back into one of his others. (I'm not accountant for his other companies so I don't know)
Do I give them chance to sort it out before filing SAR and disengaging?
My answers
Hi Paul
Thanks for comments, client returns are correct, I prepare them from bank statements and file them so it isn't that.
I have adressed issue with him though about giving my details to subbies I don't represent though.
Hi
Thanks all
I suspect that the subbies haven't filled in tax returns correctly so as advised I'm not getting involved with them unless appointed as their agent.
I didn't think it sounded right that refunds were refused especially as the ones I've done have been refunded.
Hi all, thanks for responses.

Thanks again

Not mentioned before because she's only just told me!
I only get info from them once a quarter to do VAT returns and this lease has just appeared in this quarter's bank info.
Some further info.

Hi Andy
There's no intention to avoid being found it, just the wish to provide the correct advice and point out the consequences of not taking that advice.
Hi
Thanks, I'll explain it to them in words of one syallable but they'll still want to risk it.
