I emailed all my clients yesterday giving them the link and baby steps of how to complete the form. At the same time I also gave them their UTR and NINO - I decided it was easier to do that, than suggest that they look at previous emails from me which also give this information.
Lots of questions from people, and could I do it for them - no......... read the *!*!ing email I sent you.
Today has been back to answering questions about BB loans!
HMRC have the figures for 2018 - 2019. Allow the exact same rules as for employees, 80% of earnings for 2018 - 2019 upto a ceiling of £2,500 per month. They have also got most people's bank details.
An email I got from my MP intimidated that "many" self employed people will do well out of Covid-19. If they do, good for them, and it might well push them into higher rate tax, so alongside NI, the government will reclaim nearly 50% of any grants they give.
And only 7 of them belong to my clients - yay! One thinks that it is still far too early to bring me their paperwork, well they can go whistle Dixie, the others will all be filed in time, including the one that has been given a 5 week extension :-)
My answers
A total fustercluck........................
Well only 0.0000025% of them are mine ;-)
Noooo - please don't extend it, as I've booked to go on holiday on 2nd February (COVID permitting), and I want to get away with a clean conscience :-)

Absolutely shocking that it had to go as far as the FTT to reach a humane decision.
