I am also ACCA qualified and banked with Santander. They wouldn't give me a client account, which was a shame as I liked the way the account operated. I had to move to Barclays in order to get a client account, but they wouldn't provide it as a stand alone account so I had to move my business current account to them as well. Their fees are £1 a month cheaper than Santander but you have to pay to bank cheques which Santanter don't do.
I used Iris for many years in my old practice and for 2 years in my own practice. I really liked the product but it was costly. 2 years ago I changed to Digita, I never liked it, the support was hit or miss who you spoke to and like someone else said the updates were hard work. I have recently changed to TaxCalc. The cost for my practice is a 1/3 of what Digita were charging me. It is very early days, I have prepared a handful of tax returns and one set of limited accounts using the software. Any queries I have had have been dealt with well on the email support. The update took place in the background. TaxCalc is easy to use and guides you through the information to input as well as importing TBs and accounts. So far so good.
I am on my second Toshiba laptop. The new one I bought from Costco at around £550. It has a numeric keyboard which is a must plus very good spec. I am not sure if they still have them on sale but worth looking on their website. It is a Toshiba Satellite 570-A-11H I believe. It is very quick and I am very happy with it. Good luck. It is a minefield out there.
I am also currently looking at this. I haven't read VAT notice 733 yet but when I look on the HMRC website as to what to include in your FRS sales it says EU sales.
Maybe I am missing something and I am on my way to read notice 733.
I have received an email from them to say that the accountants had registered with them recently but had completed the wrong form. This doesn't ring true somehow. I will apparently get a refund.
My answers
This is really helpful. I will take a look thanks.
Thank you everyone.

I will not be using them again.
I have just used them for the first time.
The email address I w given after paying my £10 fee does not exist.
The telephone number I rang was a firm of accountants in Cardiff!
