BJ is a great fan Of Winston Churchill, and WSC was a great fan of Europe. Does BJ have the guts to say to the nation "This may not be a good idea" and go back to the people for a PEOPLE'S VOTE? Assuming he becomes PM (girlfriend permitting LOL), he will then want to craft his place in history, and any sort of BREXIT will be a catastrophe for certainly one, probably two and possibly 3 generations: not the legacy he wants! I do agree he is the only one of the 2 contenders capable of beating Stalin Corbyn in a general election though... Never has the Chinese curse been more true: "May you live in interesting times!"
As usual, Mr. McDonnell is incapable of basing his statements on facts; doctors haven't sworn the Hippocratic oath for many years. He would be best answered by asking when will politicians have standards? Perhaps telling the truth or doing what you promise before the election would be a good start?

I have used the Small Claims Court with good effect: many pay as soon as Court Papers are served although they always argue they shouldn't pay the court fees (they should). Another useful point is that if you lose, costs are very rarely awarded against you in the small claims court unless you have been grossly unreasonable somewhere along the way. It is a low risk strategy.
Justsotax; I don't agree. Many people don't mind paying tax but do mind if they feel they are being singled out and victimised for being successful! Whilst "Tax the Rich" always appeals (until you understand that "rich" means you!), the truth is that most people are honest and are happy to contribute to society. Reasonable (small) higher rates would encourage people to pay tax rather than take the risks of tax avoidance
The issue is one of privacy; in Nordic countries any-one can see any tax-payer's return, although they are renowned for not having high incomes. The fundamental difference between doctors and accountants is that in the UK medicine is a monopsony (apologies: technical term related to "monopoly", indicating a single employer: the NHS) and it is the NHS not "The Government" (although the difference blurs....) that has put this offensive idea forward. It is yet another move by managers to emasculate and de-professionalise the medical profession, and is symptomatic of a near-hysterical desire to deflect public interest from their performance failures and to blame anything negative on doctors! Given that the NHS is not just in a funding crisis, but a manpower crisis (especially if any significant proportion of the 20% of EU doctors leave post-BREXIT if it ever happens), and if this idea actually goes forward, I believe many Consultants will just walk away from the NHS in disgust, at least in London and the South East or other areas where private practice is a realistic option. Since accountants work for themselves predominantly, there is no real risk.
I couldn't disagree more strongly. With the most likely outcome being the break-up of the "United" Kingdom, as it is more than likely that Scotland will secede (legally, of course) to remain in the EU, and Northern Ireland join with Eire (at best) or return to "the troubles" (at worst), we are left with Little England and Wales. There is strong popular support in London for declaring Independence as a Sovereign City State and financially it is realistic. There are smaller and less wealthy states that survive quite happily! The ideas that Londoners can be treated as milch-cows for the north east tax-eaters is risible and will not be acceptable to London tax payers. As they say, it's not over until the fat lady sings, and she definitely hasn't sung yet!!
