I was relieved that I could not file this form on behalf of my clients. First, it forces clients to get a gov gateway user name and password. This will enable clients to see a history of tax filing, liabilities and payments. Consequently, clients will be able to corroborate advice without immediate recourse to the accountant. Preventing agents from filing the form is frees the tax professional to focus on providing advice. There are no profit or tax calculations on the form. The claim form is simply entering UTR and bank account details.

I didn't charge. Seemed too small. I bill most PAYE clients yearly, so I could have added £20 the yearly fee next March. In retrospect, I probably should have done this.
Clients are sensitive to switching at this time of distress, especially those that need to furlough. Probably what I would have gained in fee I would have lost in goodwill. Plus I don't like billing small amounts.

I am not sure you could include office chair, as this would likely be a capital item:

I hope any new rules will not place yet more pressure on accountants from clients wanting to know if they have a Personal Service Company.

"the allowance of interest
"the allowance of interest where the capital is not directly borrowed for the “business” seems to go beyond what is reasonable"
I cannot find anything unreasonable about a business owner securing funding against his property.
If someone owns a home and a rental property, why should they have to forfeit tax relief on interest simply because they are seeking to obtain a mortgage on the most favourable terms.
"members of the government now feel a need to preach against tax avoidance"
Governments have have preached against tax avoidance at many times in the past.
"Tax professionals are out of touch." I am supposing that this includes "Simon Sweetman."
Perhaps I should go and work in the EU.

I think it was John Lennon who said life is what happens to you when you are busy making plans for something else.
