My thought precisely - so much for tax simplification! Typical political obfuscation.

This is the very opposite of tax simplification!

The Gold Rush documentary (3-parter on BBC iPlayer) is worth a watch as it covers the financial side very well. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000xpm8/gold-rush-our-race-to-oly...
The Paralympics start on 24 Aug and I can't wait to cheer on our athletes again.

It's always been more than a street party, it started as a march for human rights and even now a (pun intended) rainbow coalition of disparate groups use Pride to seek community and public support.
Gay people remain criminalised in many countries of the world, and in a week where Hungary has passed a horrifyingly regressive anti-LGBT law, Pride matters.
Growing up in the era of Britain's own Section 28, Pride was always a beacon of visibility and a safe space to just be oneself. It's still the one time and place I don't have to think twice about holding my wife's hand.

I hope you are wrong (but fear you are right).
This last couple of weeks we've experienced a real upswing in the number of scam calls and texts, from HMRC issuing a warrant for your arrest, to Amazon Prime expiring, to your broadband being cutoff, to DHL/DPD/whoever is delivering a parcel and you can track it here.
The fraudsters only need a tiny proportion of people to fall for these things.

Thanks for the summary Kate, essential reading as always.

The author is talking about violence globally, not just crimes recorded in the UK - which I hope we can all recognise are under-reported anyway. The perceived or actual threat of male violence restricts women's everyday lives in ways that most men never have to think about.

We have been trained to see racism as a simple binary: good people are not racist, only bad people are. I'm not bad, so I can't possibly be racist.
But it's far more complex and as a white person you have to disengage your natural defensiveness and open your heart and mind to the message.
White privilege is an absence of the negative consequences of racism. So it can be hard for us to see what those consequences are.
