By way of an update, I called the employer helpline and spoke with a really helpful call handler who actioned this very efficiently. A date was provided by which this should be reflected in HMRC online accounts.
A surprisingly good result albeit after a 44 minute wait on the phone.
Seeking clarification on 0% vat for scaffold. Contractor is supplying and installing solar panels on residential property. Scaffold is needed to access the roof. The scaffold will not be used for any other work. Does the quote to the customer (which includes the cost of the scaffold) get charged fully at 0% VAT or does the scaffold need to be invoiced separately with 20% VAT added?

Hi ElectricianInOxforshire,
The 0% VAT rate only applies to the installation of energy saving materials and would not apply to the scaffolding as these are not in themselves energy saving materials and so the scaffold service would need to be invoiced at 20%.
This is from a fairly long thread 'Zero rate of VAT for solar panel products' illustrating lots of confusion........
I have looked into this, you would need to migrate to IRIS Elements by the end of the 30 days.
We would advise to wait to close to the time of the end of the 30 days to avoid being billed for both Taxfiler and Elements at the same time.
The Moneysoft P11D included the full loan and a '2' as joint borrowers so each P11D included the software calculated 50% share of the total cash equivalent.
Enter the number of joint borrowers that have shared the total cash equivalent in the box. The total amount of the loan is not affected by the number of joint borrowers. In all cases show the full amount of the loan.

Hi,
Any pointers on the most efficient procedure would be much appreciated.
Can I ask how you got on with this?

Sadly, I'm not sure that the information provided by Taxfiler chat was accurate.
I have contacted Taxfiler support to confirm the position.
Just spoken with someone via Taxfiler chat.
I am invoiced and pay monthly and have been a user since the early days.
They said I could stick with Taxfiler as it is and that this will continue to be supported for the foreseeable future.
They said I could migrate in the future by using the link in the migration email even if this was a year or so down the line.
Hopefully, this is the case and accurate.........
Two emails arrived:
Action needed: Taxfiler to IRIS Elements migration
Act Now: Your FREE Trial of IRIS Elements is waiting!

This seems in line with HMRC guidance https://www.gov.uk/guidance/how-to-complete-forms-p11d-and-p11db#interes...

Thanks for the reply, much appreciated.
'The provision of pipelines or underground ducts or tunnels with a primary purpose of carrying utility conduits' looks reasonable.
Any suggestions on depreciation when there is no formal lease in place?
