I'm afraid the previous Chancellor George Osborne did the country no favours by adding some ridiculous complications to the personal tax regime. He should have sought some proper advice before announcing the changes.
I think the fonts used are too small so that the important content added by users is understated.
On the other hand, the graphics are simply TOO BIG and take-up unnecessary screen space.
I think everyone has the right to arrange their affairs to pay the correct amount of tax. This is tax avoidance, to be done within the law.
I recall David Cameron talking about 'clever accountants' as if they are a problem. The real problem is 'stupid politicians' and an inept civil service not creating watertight tax law.
I hate retrospective law and regulation. Recognising a problem and correcting it is one thing. Applying law retrospectively is awful. For example, lets assume you always stick to a particular 40mph speed limit. Then the council decides to change to a 30mph speed limit. Then issues you with penalty notice, points and a fine because you previously exceeded the new lower speed limit. Unfair? Definitely.
As a society we need laws. But if you then retrospectively change those laws, which laws do you now obey? It brings the laws into doubt and loses respect. I think the government and HMRC are entirely wrong to try to pursue people who basically were following the letter of the law (even if you do feel they were being immoral). Just correct it for the future, and move on.
Not just the cost of the electricity, but also the lifetime/replacement cost of the battery has to be taken into account as well as other servicing and depreciation costs. I suspect running an electric car is not as cheap in the longer-term as one might hope...
As an end-user of QBO there are a lot of features we like, but limitations on sales invoice design are irritating, as is the inability to put a supplier invoice 'on hold'.
Irrespective of how the survey comes out, I also object to the term 'Customers'. This implies I have a choice of taking my custom elsewhere, when in fact HMRC is a state tax-collecting monopoly, and I am a taxpayer. I suppose if a private firm also offered a tax collecting service I could then choose which one to use. But as of now, a taxpayer I am, not a customer!

Tax Avoidance or Evasion? Retrospective law

Agents
So I am a Deputy for my mother's affairs appointed by the court by the Office of the Public Guardian. Am I to be locked-out too?.
Saving Planet
No planet B? I like that.
Electric Cars
Not just the cost of the electricity, but also the lifetime/replacement cost of the battery has to be taken into account as well as other servicing and depreciation costs. I suspect running an electric car is not as cheap in the longer-term as one might hope...
QBO - Liked but some irritation
As an end-user of QBO there are a lot of features we like, but limitations on sales invoice design are irritating, as is the inability to put a supplier invoice 'on hold'.
'Customers'?
Irrespective of how the survey comes out, I also object to the term 'Customers'. EBTs
Some very well known firms have used EBTs. Expect some licence fees to go up!
HMRC Feedback
To not be able to see figures once they have been submitted boggles belief. What sort of eejits have worked at HMRC on this?
