I agree re it not being entirely clear cut. The game design/production etc is run through a limited company and there is no doubt that the social media aspect has been helpful with the production side of things.

Some of the games are kept and some given away. Retail price of the games ranges from about £10 to £30. They are board games and card games so second hand value would not be significant.
I don't think it's material enough to worry about considering it as income but the client is a worrier

I think it means they have the document open somewhere, maybe in the browser or as a pdf. I tell the clients to close everything down and try signing again

I called up the vat helpline this morning to ask about the direct debit question. The advice was for clients to cancel their existing direct debits and set them up again when this settles down.
I don't know whether this is formal official advice or just what the guy who answered the phone is telling people

I have had this issue. Something that works for us is to login to our ASA in one tab, and then open up the "sign up your clients business" in another .

HMRC said they had starting rolling out the changes to the new look system yesterday and it would be done over a period of time, client by client rather than agent by agent. Most of our clients are still under the old system, just bad luck the one i was looking at this morning had been changed.

Or allow them to shorten if they want but without any extension in the filing deadline.
Was there any particular reason the extension provision is there?

Looking at the payslips we have here, the reference on the detachable payslip has the additional A but the section above the payslip says "if you pay by phone, internet or BACS use the full reference shown below" and then has the expected 17 digit version.
I think all of my clients pay via phone/internet so i'll carry on using the normal 17 digit version
