I do not charge for Onboarding. But I charge a modest initial deposit to all new clients on the understanding that if after the Onboarding process they do not join, they waive their deposit. Never had an issue with this. I think this article is making an issue out of something that should not be an issue.
HMRC might want to consider this once they get average phonecall waiting times down to under 15 minutes. That should give these wealthy clients at least another decade.
In all honesty, this is a non-article. What does it tell us? That somebody sheltered themselves from throwing themselves in at the deep and by taking on three days a week subcontract work and taking on new clients. Big deal, that's simply re-inventing the wheel.
I also wanted to add....How can anybody refer to golf as a sport? Several hours walking around on the grass with a stick and a ball, chatting about everything under the sun. Keep the walking and chatting elements of it, eliminate the stupidity of trying to get a ball into a hole and you will have the ideal corporate day out.
Good article Lucy, well written, but as others have said, there are plenty of "Women Only" networking events, clubs and socials out there so I think that you should have brought out both sides of the debate in order to give a balanced view.
My answers

I thought that Izzi Rosenberg was a female, not a "he". Please clarify. Thanks.
With all due respect, I feel that this article doesn't tell us anything we wouldn't already know.

I have a much better suggestion. Abandon the unnecessary and confusing proposed introduction of MTD for good.

Paul Hawksbee. Lee Hawksbee. Are they one and the same or were there two of them running Kickabout?
