The latest guidance on making loss claims reads..............
Amended company tax returns
You do not need to submit your amended company tax returns online. If you submit amended returns on the online portal for the accounting periods for the extended relief claim, they will be rejected as the time limit on amendments will have passed.
If a company tax return is made, make sure box 45 on CT600 form is completed. More details on the claims should be explained in the computations in the same way that any claim for one year carry back is made.
Also............ Claims should not be made until the Finance Bill receives Royal Assent which is expected to take place around mid-July.
I have just prepared a claim and attached with the Tax Return on the basis it will be many months after July before HMRC actually review and hopefully deal with the repayment.

You need to go to the CIS online form refund first........ then it takes you to the government portal.......... then you need to enter your ASA ID login....... which takes you to the online form.

Completed a claim last week.
You need to use your ASA "Agent Services Account" ID. It will not accept your normal gateway ID.............. Thereafter the claim process is fairly straight forward. After submission you will receive a confirmation email confirming receipt of your claim.

Hi Ray , Yes i had the same email on 10 March requesting a quote for accountancy services for their business "Mortice & Green" with sales between £390k - £550k..........Julia Carrick said she would "send bank statements and payrole" details.
I wasted 1/2 hour just researching companies house and looking for a website and decided it looked odd, therefore best left alone............

I just tried to file a SA Return and it was rejected...........hopefully the site being down is the only reason.........will try again later
Just tried again and the Return has been accepted and I have full access to my HMRC client portal........ hopefully just a glitch but you never can tell with HMRC's IT systems.............

SA filing down as well. Submitted two successfully pre 10.30am but at 10.45am third submission rejected saying "due to HMRC internal system error". I'm using TaxFiler.

Thanks for your comments
MBK .... The Client does not have the Sage 50 Software its the former Accountant. I have other Clients who use Sage 50 though but there could be licence issues
Johndon68 ........ Yes I only need to do the financials. But just to clarify thats to review the reports - nominal, puchase ledger and sales ledger and access financial history and run TB
However I am also considering completing a further 3 months accounts to the year end, so batch process (just post) purchase and sales invoices, enter bank transactions and prepare vat return and run P&L, B/S and TB. Can I do all this on Sage Instant?
I presume Sage instant needs to be registered in my name but will accept the data from another registered business.
Thanks for your advice

Another vote for CutePDF. You set it up as a Printer and its very easy to create pdf's from excel and word. It also deals with multiple pages in a single pdf. To date I have never had a problem and it covers my basic requirements.

A Dangerous Bogus Email - Delete!!
The Companies House email that Shirley refers contains a dangerous virus if the link is clicked on. My client received this email last week which was copied internally and unfortunately curiosity caused a member of staff to open the link and within a short time the virus had worked its way onto the Server and corrupted the files. The Server required major surgery at considerable expense. For a number of reasons the anti- virus software did not prevent this attack............................................... Lesson learned!!
