Qualified ACA, worked for 2 of the Big 4 in their CT departments before moving on to work on CT software at Thomson Reuters (Digita). Interests include running, my little girl and all manner of music.
I am also active on Twitter if you want a new follower
I'm on Strava - it isn't the perfect app but it is pretty good.
I've got a Forerunner 205 - years old but still works. If anyone has a more modern Garmin, does it pick up satellites quickly as my 205 has always taken ages!
One of the issues I have is that there is no built in GPS so you have to take your £600 phone and your £300 watch with you to record your data - if you want to include your route/elevation etc.
If they can add GPS so the watch can go out on its own and then synch with the phone when you get back, it could be a great piece of kit when you add in the Healtkit side of things.
Will be interesting to see how the battery lasts. I use my iPhone to track my running at the moment and it can eat the battery. Hopefully the watch will be better at this.
Will probably stick to my Garmin for long runs - can see it lasting an ultra but my phone probably wouldn't.
I tried Moves when it was available as a free app but found that it had a bad effect on my battery. On a phone that needs to be charged daily, extra drain is not a good thing.
The workings of it were very good and it was simple to set up and use although, as with any type of pedometer, you can 'cheat' the system by moving your phone up and down to record steps.
Having tried out a number of running apps, Strava is my current favourite. The segments idea where sections of your run are compared to other users is a big selling point although Nike+ is still better in terms of feedback on the move.
thetrainline.com app is a useful one - especially as it tells you your platform before the information boards. Very helpful at somewhere like Paddington
And I couldn't be without TuneIn Radio. Streaming rock stations from the US is great.
I wonder what Shakespeare would make of written and spoken English today? Language and grammar evolve as the years go by. Complaining about it isn't really going to change anything. Maybe we should just go along for the ride
My answers
Ooops
An ultra in June may not be a good idea then? :)
Two big goals to keep me plodding along through the year this year.
Bristol to Bath
I caved in and signed up for that one.
I've also entered an ultra so I may be dead before the Bristol Bath run :)
Rachael that link goes to a different discussion - unless my browser is playing up.

Rate changes 1 April 2015
There is no marginal rate from 1 April 2015 and all CT is charged at 20% so the 2015-16 column is incorrect.

You have angered the Time sheet Gods and they have taken away your paragraphs.

Happiness is...
Being mooned by your 3 year old because she finds it immensely funny :)
Dying art or just evolution?
