For us the must have options are Xero for bookkeeping, Dext (was Receipt Bank) to manage bills and expenses, Inform Direct for all things company secretarial, and Taxcalc for personal and company tax.
We use Inform Direct to track deadlines for confirmation statements and statutory accounts and come to that to manage the majority of our Companies House filings. Their customer support is excellent.
But with a different effective date to the date of signature. If that counts as backdating then that is a nice clear "no" to my client, unfortunately she is getting advice from different accountants who are saying it is OK to do so...
Just worked through a whole list of P9s, most of which are bonkers. Are you waiting and hoping that more sensible ones get issued, or are you calling HMRC or getting the clients to call HMRC to challenge them?
Bluefin Have you tried Bluefin? I've been pleased so far and on initial research they were cheaper than other brokers (eg Hiscox) for the level of cover I needed.

To everyone for your VERY helpful comments, I'm going with my gut instinct of "no" as we were not ready enough.
Not backdating...

Xero can do it using tracking categories which works quite neatly.
Same here

Looks like I've got a bit of work to do then - thanks all for your advice and comments

Thanks all for your comments, and for your article @Bob. Kind of what I was expecting... And not exactly positive!
Thank you
Thanks for the advice!
