Greg, an ACCA qualified accountant, is Associate Director at Infinity Partnership based in Aberdeen and has been with the firm for almost 9 years. During his time at Infinity, he has developed a number of finance functions for SME businesses across the UK. More recently this has seen them develop into automated systems with the help of Sage and other software such as AutoEntry. This has allowed clients to focus on growing their businesses with near real time information and allowed Greg and the team at Infinity to become proactive advisors, helping guide businesses in the right direction.

Thank you for replying and apologies for the delay, unfortuantely my settings have changed and I did not get notifications of your repsonse.
Basically the client has set up a company where they will install and operate three large turbines costing cira £1.25m. Clearly a big project so we are showing them as assets under construction but we are thinking there might be enhanced capital allowances out there but cannot find any specific to turbines. Have you any guidance or points of reference on best tax treatment.

I am by no means an expert in the P11D world as i try to avoid them where possible. However, working in the oil and gas sector we see similar things coming up. I think the actual question would be whether or not the qualify under residency tests for any UK tax liability, including P11D. I would get a second opinion on this however, as I am guessing that although you have ROI ER number the company is still registered in the UK and I am not sure if this will override the non residency test.
Hope this gives you a path to go down and apologies it is not a clear cut answer.

Time to RUN
One of our clients had similar problems and eventually gave up and moved to Sage with a little nudge from ourselves. So the only help I can give you is moving to Sage Payroll.

Thanks, I didn't think it was a requirement and thought the "visitors" wouldn't take too kindly to not having one in place.
