I read this as the OP collecting charges and rent, in order to pay utilities and the ground rent to the landlord. So this isn’t trading, and the salon can include rent etc in its own se accounts
But hold on, won't the Q4 report have to be filed very shortly after 31 March, so there won't be time to fiddle around with it. The final accounting won't happen for several months, how does that fit in with this?
I think the answer to the OP is that because your salary for tax purposes has been reduced by the pension, your other income might now fall partly into the basic rate band , so you do get more relief

I think once upon a time, if the year end was say the 30th April, then the deadline would be 30 January, not the 31st. I believe they changed it to the last day of the 9th month, to avoid confusion.
I agree,, Tom+Cross, except that in the traditional way, you ask if they are aware of any information that you should consider before accepting the appointment. It isn't in their power to'object'!
Thanks for that, I think that’s the best plan. Sending a letter with a paper form would be reasonable but I imagine that any reply would not arrive for goodness knows how long
My answers
Thanks, Lisa, I did actually read that before posting. It seems so much quicker than it's ever been, which is why I posed the question

Oh dear, that's a very good point, which I simply didn't think of. I'd better file an amended return
