I am trying to reconcile our July statement and have an entry that no one in the business recognises; have checked the EORI number quoted and it's a person in Isle of Mull (not business name) and corresponding VAT number (assumed same as EORI number excluding last 3 digits in case there was more info) does not exist
Defendants reference number is date of import so also super helpful
Any ideas who I can contact at HMRC to check that this is a bonafide entry and not a mistake or fraud ??
Our current provider is no longer supporting the free software that we have been using, so we have looked around for another option with minimal cost.
Just wanted to be sure that we were doing the right thing - seems a lot of fuss for no gain to the business - apart from the monthly cost of the new software, we have spent several (feels like hundreds) man hours trying to get the export right
Thanks for the prompt reply
Issues - claiming financial support to retain jobs but then being financially able to make dividend payments to shareholders ?
So if there are no restrictions, this would only be of concern on grounds of morality - government aid funding business which doesn't need it because it is capable of making dividend payments to its shareholders - but not likely to make any headlines
I wasn't aware that you accrued holiday during furlough period - I am currently still working and have been told that I must take one day holiday per week so that I'm not in a better position in relation to holidays than those who are furloughed - the idea is that when we are all back at work, we don't all then start to book holidays
Please can someone clarify - maybe my Company has stated in the furlough letters that they are not accruing holiday entitlement ?
The grant is 80% - you can pay 80% up to £2500 per month of regular salary and claim back all or you can pay 100% of regular salary and claim back higher of 80% or £2500
Sorry to sabotage but I'm new to this - Anyone able to tell me what to do about overtime. I have a situation where if I include overtime in calculations most will earn £2500 and then if I need to recall them for job with no overtime during the period, they'll be worse off (they'll actually refuse to work !)
My answers
I have contacted an HIMC department by email - address given by another HMRC department, so not generally available (I thought) - their reply
Our current response time is 40 working days
My VAT returns are quarterly so I may get an answer before the next one is due

Thanks all for your prompt responses - much appreciated to get second opinion before going ahead in case I'd missed any small print
What other conditions please ?
