i had a recent let property campaign where they wrote back and asked how we had calculated the management fees as they seemed "incorrect". we sent them the letting agent form which showed their fees. no apologies, they just then agreed the figures.
we are saying that is not a reason to file a tax return. there will be something else. with the car benefit is your income over £50,000 and your household receives child benefit or does it take you over £100,000?
just the fact of having a company car does not mean you need to complete self-assessment tax returns
i assume that HMRC were not told when your car benefit commenced which has resulted in the tax owed but you have not really given enough information for me to me sure.
My colleague was involved in a chat where the advisor told her if she did not type faster he would end the chat as she was taking too long. Very helpful :(
HMRC announced in an Agent update in November or December that they would no longer issue copy repayment notifications to agents. its a cost cutting exercise.

the CG system and the Self-Assessment system are not linked to each other.
are you saying that a tax return was prepared for 22/23? if so then the CG tax paid should also have been shown on the self-assessment tax return.
Yes six months now & then they will probably decide to close the lines in December & January again also!
I think its appalling - haven't they just been hauled over the coals for their customer service hitting an all time low !

exactly the same - not received any although the clients have. maybe HMRC are not sending agent copies this year but forgot to tell us.

the online chat function is working well for us at the moment although you do get the occasional advisor that talks nonsense or cuts you off!
the phone line seems to be getting worse & worse.
