@Alex_T I've been using the report builder to bespoke the reports. Basically, I've applied holiday pay at rate for each employee, which is set up in the payment tab. I then needed a pay elements report, listing all employees and the holiday hours paid for each. The system won't show all this information under one column. If you look at the edit section of the reports and click on add/remove columns, then employer items, an item is created each time you add a rate for each employee. I've emailed this in yesterday, so hopefully will hear back soon, but was just wondering if anyone else had come across this and had found an alternative method. Many thanks
Brightpay are also true to their word. Some months ago I asked about a pension provider being added for the output files, and was told it would be included in 2016/2017. We downloaded the update, and there it was! There was also a little issue (and I mean minor) to be fixed with the reporting, which we emailed in, and about a week later that was rectified with the update.
Might seem a small matter to some, but after years with provider who we really lost faith in, and was often left to either live with the multitude of technical blips or have to rebuild payrolls because they couldn't do anything, it's such a pleasure to have removed all that extra stress.
I like dealing with a company who are all on the same page in terms of knowledge and support, and follow through with promises - it's one of the key factors of customer retention besides the product, We're going nowhere!
Brightpay @petersaxton, I agree to there being one or two slight inconveniences, but nothing major, and I've found that once you bring these up with their support, they do pass it on for future improvement, so I'm sure it will be looked at
Switched to Brightpay with no regrets After many years with Iris, we switched to Brightpay, and wish we had done years ago!
Any little issues or queries are very quickly ironed out or explained, and they do actually listen (and implement) to suggestions for improvement. We are just waiting for the new portal to be released which will accommodate electronic payslips, and I think other documents like P60s and AE communications to be added, before we can move some clients over as we are using the Iris open payslips.
Compared to the excessive charges, sub-standard support, and regular technical issues with PAYE Master and IPP, Brightpay are a dream!
An example of the attitude from Iris. We once had an issue where the AE module wasn't correctly assessing an employee in the right worker category, and they couldn't fix the problem - the person dealing with this simply told us we had to run the payroll again! This took a lot of time, and they just didn't seem bothered, nor did they offer to take the file in-house and adjust the details in the background of the file, which they could have done. This is just one example from a catalogue of very poor support and lack of knowledge - I just don't have faith in them now.
I'm still waiting for an answer regarding the termination of the service contract with Iris despite three emails over the course of a month - just terrible. I will be on the phone to them tomorrow.
So glad to have found Brightpay, and I hope this company never changes or gets taken over.

Does anyone know if the AE communications will also be published to the new portal? Thanks
