Doesn't sound too much
How long realisitically does it take?
Write up invoices/bank statements, allowing for cash accounting which presumably is beneficial to him in that he defers his VAT liability doesn't sound high.
Allowing for some admin work in sending the VAT return, explaining why it's the answer it is, filing the return, £70 isn't much assuming everything is there and can be done in one go!
Do you have overheads?
Sorry to hijack but....
Can a firm of accountants trading as a limited company sign off an accountants report on their firm?
Was looking at one the other day and it just seemed a bit odd to me?
£250 for checking figures?
If I was the new Accountant, I think I'd want more than £250 for checking and filing the accounts prepared by another firm.
What about the CT filing? Does that include CT return, and iXBRL accounts?
Chase your money and be pleased to be rid!
Anorther agreement with cloudcounter, however would try and understand the situation regarding late filing, was it previous accountant didn't file on time, or was it client didn't provide records in sufficient time or somewhere in between.
Client will no doubt blame previous accountant but if realistically their fault, then any recourse unlikely to be worthwhile.
Agreed on the audit fees OGA
But looking at the split provided, it seems that the Accountancy of £3,500 is where the sticking point is?
I would get the client to focus on that, especially if the accounting information is good which or perhaps that's where the adviser is coming from, in that it wasn't?
All in all, just demonstrates the new need for us to be having discussions on fees while doing the work where it's clear (in our opinion) there are going to be overuns.
why not email him
saying you'd like to follow up on your proposal and is he available next week for a quick call, if you ask him to suggest a rough date/time if he wants to talk you should be able to gauge where you are.
His answer may well be to say where do I sign, equally no response is fairly indicative as well
In a couple of weeks, a couple of clients with December year ends chomping at the bit for their accounts to keep us busy till then
all prepared here, but still waiting for 10 to come back signed.....don't clients realise the gin is ready for me
Foolish rather than a good friend!
Thanks! It is after the adjustment for exempt supplies, but at least he gets some input tax relief on the residual inputs.
I'm quite interested in looking at virtual cabinet, would anyone mind giving an indication of costs?
