Very interesting article.
I recently attended a property course that promoted the exact opposite of these rules.
The scam went you can remortgage and extract the cash in respect of revaluation gain, tax free.
There are thousands of ltd companies that currently hold properties in this manner, and as and when this closes, the ltd co will simply fold I expect leading to a flood of rental properties onto the housing market.
This is my view and I can expand as needed.

Succinctly put, the day we have the opportunity to vote them out, I hope their are very long lines at the polling stations, and I will wait with glee all day if needed.
My only criticism of the budget is the measly amount being invested to replace the lost woodlands from the HS2 build

"hundreds if not thousands of larger companies now recognise the social and even investment benefits of reducing their environmental footprint".
Has anyone told the Chinese, with all their new coal power stations, or are we afraid to say boo to them?
Ever heard the Phrase Lead by example? we're subsidising coal still, so try again.

Well, if WeWork are really committed to reducing CO2 emissions perhaps they should tell their staff that they will not be employed if they own or use a car. Big Brother marches relentlessly on .
The true fascist sense of 1984's Big Brother is horrifying, but so is a planet of idiots that destroy themselves, dredge every fish from the ocean fill it with plastic poison the ground and the air, cut down it's lungs by clearing rainforest for palm oil and then lets see how much meat you can eat ZERO.
Thankfully Big Brother Marches on, he will be our lord and saviour otherwise we are truly doomed! Freedom has a price and it's far too high!

Highly baited article but beautifully delivered to the point, That is the definition of giving high customer service delivering above and beyond as required when asked, which will in turn give profits (providing you're charging correctly)
Nice to see some common sense, a ray of light in a world of the lost, confused and cynics .
Bravo Sir, I'm curious if you specialise in offering your services to any industry in particular?

Hardly shocking but certainly interesting figures.
In my own experience I initially read the full briefs of RTI. The basic idea behind it is great, it's implementation appalling.
The level of compliance and returns required increases administration burden. all three businesses I have worked for since had substantial errors in figures even when RTI processes were followed correctly. The system is not robust, errors are almost impossible to fix and take repeated calls and letters. Usually due to HMRC misallocations!
The worst however was a double submission from an outsourced payroll company who double counted my prior employemnt. My current tax record shows a list of numbers with a total, the total does not equal the sum of the monthly payments. I was told that my former employers need to do a resubmission, 2 years on., despite these numbers obviously being wrong.
The promise and idea of RTI are great to me, this article just adds another failed string to it's shabby bow

Really interesting read and inspiring to see that helping the wider community has brought you good Kharma within the firm and a few extra clients!

It seems the BBC are keeping the how behind closed doors. So we wont find out how this happened for some time.
It's a huge chunk of money (perhaps not relatively) to simply walk out the door. Certainly over a short time there should have been ample controls in place to prevent this. I hope it isn't as simple as sending Dummy fake invoices for Dummy services that were promptly paid out!

Might not be Bright...
...But in two years he will possibly repeat the actions or 14 months good behaviour. I hope all his significant assets were seized!!

I completely agree with everything Paul above me has said.
However, I like to think that to oppose his final comment you should not be at an automatic advantage either. Be it for race class gender or the fact you're a mate/cousin/boarding school chum. Hopefully one day we will get to this point where people are assessed on their ability not siply fitting into a box nor being a big charmer. Skill should be paramount and held above all form of discrimination, positive or negative.
Surely then we would then all be more satisfied with our achievements in the knowledge they are based on our ability to perform?
