A mum and an accountant
Attempting to be an amazing accountant and an amazing mum, somehow combine the two and meet somewhere in the middle but currently failing at both. Hoping that in a few years I will have found something I enjoy doing or found some sort of work life balance and will be in a less stressed out place but until then, or as I get there, I think I will vent all my frustrations out on these blogs! And the responses I've had to the blogs have been quite nice which spurs me on to keep going.

I used to work exclusively from home. The best thing about that was I could work whenever I wanted unless I had an online Skype meeting or phone calls to make. The worst thing was I would work in the evenings after everyone else was asleep. This wouldn't be so bad if I managed a nap in the day or it wasn't too late but most of the time I'd feel like napping just before the school run, so in reality it never happened. However, it wouldn't be every night so it was ok.
I now work three days in the office and one day at home and have one day off. The days at home, I struggle with bingeing on biscuits and the lack of exercise. But apart from that I like the structure of working set hours and the hours I do allows me to do school runs and school plays. Plus it's nice to see people at work.

Some clients want to give me their life story about why they haven't done their accounts yet and why they are coming to me for help. Most of them involve parents/loved ones in hospital situation.
Never hugged them but do try to be sympathetic and listen to them while they talk.

There is a salary sacrifice but its less than what he puts into the GPP. Does that matter? He is a higher rate tax payer though even with salary sacrifice.

For the CPD tax lectures I've been to, my favourite is Rebecca Benneyworth but while I was studying ACCA, my favourite tax lecture at the time was Pat Nown.

Just spent half an hour going round in circles trying to work out how to change my practice address on HMRC website and then found this on google search! Thanks for the latest update.

People you can talk tax to! Being easily able talk to someone who knows what they are doing or who to forward the call to, would be helpful rather than you can try this number and another long wait.
I also like Sheepy306's idea of a pink website with clips of Frozen thrown in. Get the next generation of tax professionals interested at a young age!

Not a good post for subcontractors
I do some sub contracting work which is hard enough to find and do as it is and then if people read post like this, it will make it even harder for sub contractors to find work.

Thanks for all you replies
I'm waiting for the client to give me a call back, in the meantime, I'll give HMRC another call.
Thanks for the post code finder, both postcodes are correct. The reason I've got 2 postcodes is that the client has moved.
I'll try authorising without the national insurance number.
