Sorry you received that. A simple case of a 'reminder' newsletter already in the system. My personal inbox is full of similar so please bear with us as anything automated flushes through.
Accounting Excellence is a celebration of the accounting profession which gets bigger every year - by which we mean more entries as accountants proudly nominate their teams. We are again looking at a record year - indeed Monday saw a flurry of entries as people looked for positive things to do when likely working from home.
Obviously, we understand that entering any award programme isn't on the top of everyone's to do list. For those who do wish to but are busy with client work, we totally understand - we are currently looking at a deadline extension.
As for cancelling… We appreciate awards programmes aren't everyone's cup of tea but, for an increasing number, they are. A lot of work has already gone in from firms around the country who have entered and we won't be throwing that away. The Awards are six months away and, whilst things change, we believe Accounting Excellence will provide a chance to celebrate a profession that is steering itself and its clients through current adversity.
As for coronavirus - the AWEB team are putting in as many hours as possible on this (plus have IR35 to now consider!) to keep people updated on changes. You can see all the hard work via the 'coronavirus' tag on the top nav or just click https://www.accountingweb.co.uk/tags/coronavirus. Any Answers users can jump in on John Stokdyk's latest thread here (https://www.accountingweb.co.uk/any-answers/how-are-we-all-doing), making sure our community is okay. Around 30,000 people drop by AccountingWEB every day and we're dedicated to making sure they're both informed and looked after. Do contribute and let us know if there's anything else we can do.
All the best,

Despite our best intentions, the post and, more specifically, the comments below are hitting more than a few nerves here and the argument now seems to have run its course.
John is gamely trying to discuss the future for AccountingWEB as a whole (and not just Any Answers) but there seems to be a lot of ill will about a past we're unable to get past let alone change. If it helps, we share some of your frustrations and are trying to use that to move forwards.
However, as John says, in all this there is a lot of good feedback. My thanks for this. It will be logged and taken on board for both our content and product timeline. We do listen closely to our community - see our new AccountingWEB Live exhibition which comes directly from surveying the community and reacting appropriately.
As John says, AccountingWEB is "a site for accounting professionals and will remain so".
I'll keep the comments made so far live but will be turning off any new ones. Looking at the news, the world could do with being a bit more kind to each other right now and this feels in keeping with that.
If you have any further comments, please feel free to message me direct.

Obviously, things are moving at an unbelievably fast pace with coronavirus and it's easy to be anecdotal about such things.
Like a lot of major events and in keeping with current advice, Accountex is very much still on.
Accountex are doing a fantastic job keeping attendees in the loop over at their website - see https://www.accountex.co.uk/london/coronavirus-update or their Twitter feed here https://twitter.com/accountex. Our very best to the team at what must be a tough time.
Accountex London is shaping up to be a great conference and we hope to be there on 13-14 May just like we are every year. See you there.

Yes, quite a few made it – but it's a big book with a lot of pages to fill!
Thanks to all for their comments - we'll be giving hard copies away at Accountex and a free PDF download after the show.
