Currently Class 4 NIC contributions do not provide entitlement to contributory benefits. As Class 2 NIC contributions are being abolished and Class 4 NIC contributions are being brought in line with Employees contribution rates when is it expected that the self employed will be able to claim these benefits - State pension , SSP , SMP, unemployment benefit, etc

What is the point of an SA302 when the mortgage advisor and / or building society in a recent request did not understand why the figures are different to the signed accountants certificate and therefore refused a mortgage application on these grounds .

Having notified HMRC recently of the amount of interest received gross in 2011/12 in respect of a PAYE taxpayer they agreed to include the underpayment in the notice of coding for 2013/14

For the larger corporations why not have corporation tax on turnover rather than profit .
A suitable % rate could be determined (say 0.5% or something similar)
That would be reported turnover exclusive of VAT.
That might avoid shifting profit abroad . It might even work for small/ medium sized companies too.
I'm not sure how you would cope with loss relief though
Just a thought

When they do issue them I wonder when they will be sent out
I received a letter on 25 July 2011 from BP4009 issued on 29 June 2011 in response to our letter to them of 6 May 2011. Slightly better I received another letter on the same day from BP4009 issued on 5 July 2011 in response to our letter of 17 May 2011

It is now Tuesday afternoon and having spoken to the helpline they simply have no idea when it will be restored
They did apologise for any inconvenience caused
1st Feb 2008
Off line system
I am still unable to access the system(see earlier comment)
I have got quite a number of system error messages to prove it
I was advised by the Helpline to write to
The On-line Complaints Manager
I wonder how many letters she will get.
I will have to hand deliver any I have got left to do
1st Feb 2008
Self assessment on-line
Online Service temporarily unavailable again this morning
So I rang the helpline and was told the system is working but it may take several attempts to enter the system
So I made several attempts to enter the system and I still couldn't get access
24 hour deadline extension to a system that cannot cope with the level of input is totally unacceptable
What chance have we got for improvements to the system for next year
